First group of Uzbek pilgrims return to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A first group of pilgrims from Uzbekistan returned to Tashkent from Saudi Arabia on 1 August 2013, the Committee on religious affairs said.

On 1 August 2013, some 225 pilgrims from Uzbekistan arrived in Tashkent after conducting Umrah pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

Umrah pilgrimage in Uzbekistan kicked off on 22 July, when the first group of Uzbek Muslims headed to Saudi Arabia. The season will end on 10 August.

Overall, 1,183 people from Uzbekistan performed Umrah pilgrimage. Uzbek pilgrims stayed at Muvadda Nur Hotel in Medina during four days. The hotel is located near holly sights. Pilgrims will visit Muhammad Mosque, his grave and other historic sights.

After that they visited Mecca and carried out pilgrimage. They stay in this city for six days.

The committee said that hotels have all conditions for comfortable stay. Seven doctors and two cooks rendered services to pilgrims.
