The project is aimed at strengthening potential of the Uzbek hydrometeorology, equip regional educational centers in Tashkent with modern equipment and support the Uzbek hydrometeorology service on updating its development and modernization strategy.
On 17 November 2011, the Center for hydrometeorology service under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan and Finnish Meteorological Institute signed a memorandum of understanding on implementation of the project of technical assistance “Assisting modernization of hydrometeorology services in the states of Central Asia”.
Within the project the sides will cooperate in such hydrometeorology areas as joint research, exchange of scientific-technical information and documentation, implementation of joint projects, exchange of experts, and organization of joint events.
