Financial Times includes Uzbekistan to hottest destinations for 2017
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan was included to the list of the hottest destinations to travel for 2017, which was published by the British newspaper Financial Times.

The list was developed based on survey of the heads of tourism companies such as Wild Frontiers, KE Аdventure Travel, Discover the World, Ampersand Travel, Oetker Collection, Red Savannah, Cazenove and Loyd.

The list includes nine countries along with Uzbekistan – Nepal, Kenya, Finland, Andaman Islands, Great Britain, Madagascar, Cambodia and New Zealand. At the same time, Uzbekistan was listed in the second place in the ranking.

Founder of Wild Frontiers Jonny Bealby said that tourists prefer to visit unique places and Silk Road counties are the most attractive destination now.

The paper said that if tourists have no time to travel all countries along Great Silk Road, than they should visit Uzbekistan.

It added that Uzbekistan with its ancient cities like Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shakhrisabz, Tashkent, unique architectural monuments, desert and blossoming valleys, tours on horses and camels, create a feeling that the person visited all the countries of the region, the newspaper said.

The author of the article also recalled that President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On measures on ensuring rapid development of tourism industry in Uzbekistan” on 2 December 2016.

The article noted that in line with the decree Uzbekistan will abolish visas for tourists from 15 countries and visitors from 12 countries whose age is over 55 years old from 1 April 2017.
