Uzbek Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyayev signed a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures of further developing and ordering leasing services in Uzbekistan” on 21 May 2011.

The document was aimed at further improving leasing activity, strengthening infrastructure of financial market and developing competitiveness in non-banking financial services.

According to the resolution, Ministry of Finance is authorized body on coordination activity of organizations, rendering leasing services.

The government of Uzbekistan entrusted the ministry to carry out functions on development f regulative base and national standards in leasing service sector, collection and conclusion of information, as well as analyze state of leasing market.

The ministry will also submit proposals on priority directions of deepening reforms in leasing service sector and analyze international norms and standards.

Ministry of Finance will also develop and submit proposals on improving legislation in leasing market and conduct other functions in line with the legislation.

The resolution said that the sector on coordination of leasing activity will be carried out in the Ministry of Finance.

The document added that the Ministry will gather, summarize and analyze information on leasing market based on data of the statistics bodies.
