Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan takes part in the Berlinale film festival in Germany, which has its own national stand. The Berlin Film Festival, also known as the Berlinale, is one of the 5 most prestigious film forums in the world.
Participants and guests from more than 100 countries of the world attended the film festival. Uzbekistan takes part in this event for the second time. As far as possible, we are negotiating with representatives of foreign film companies and are trying to attract them to Uzbekistan.
It should be noted that two films shot by a foreign film company in Uzbekistan during the year are the result of agreements reached during the Berlinale festival, representatives of the National Film Commission said. For Uzbekistan, this film festival is important in that a huge number of filmmakers from around the world are gathering here, and it is possible to demonstrate to them the country’s potential for the production of film products.
In particular, representatives of the film commission familiarize the guests of the pavilion with the unique film locations of Uzbekistan, as well as with the "rebate" system. Within the framework of the international film market, bilateral meetings with more than 40 foreign film companies and international media organizations are planned.
It should be noted that the national pavilion was organized as part of the implementation of the Decree of the President on the further development of the tourism sector, on the basis of an agreement between the European Film Market and the National Film Commission of Uzbekistan with the support of the State Committee for Tourism Development, the Youth Union and the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Germany.
