In their opening match of Group C, Uzbekistan claimed a 2-0 victory over Panama.

Dilshod Nuraliev’s side dominated in the match and created many chances to open the score, but they failed to convert their chances to goals in the first half.

On 68 minutes of the game, substitute Shohjahonn Abbasov opened the score after his teammate’s accurate pass from free-kick.

Eight minutes later Uzbekistan doubled the lead with efforts of Rustam Ashurmatov. The match ended with the score 2-0 despite both sides had chances to score.

In the other match of the Group C, Morocco outplayed Croatia and clinched a 3-1 victory.

In next round Uzbekistan will entertain Morocco and Panama will face Croatia. The matches will be held on 21 October.
