FIFA Delegation Visits Uzbekistan National Football Center
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A FIFA delegation visited the National Football Center located in the Yukori-Chirchik District of Tashkent Region.
According to the press service of the Uzbekistan Football Association, two years ago FIFA President Gianni Infantino visited the district, laid a symbolic foundation stone for the center, and reviewed the project documentation. During the current visit, the delegation was provided with detailed information about the center’s capabilities and infrastructure, which today can accommodate simultaneous training sessions for several national teams.
The National Football Center features modern stadiums, training buildings, sports halls, and a hotel for players. The Sports Medicine Center includes a swimming pool, gym, and rehabilitation facilities. To prevent injuries and accelerate athlete recovery, the center uses advanced foreign equipment and modern training methodologies.
The guests also toured the Football Specialists Training Center, the Research Center, the VAR system, the national teams training center, and the Uzbekistan Football Academy.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino met with the national team players and congratulated them on their historic achievement — qualifying for the World Cup. “First of all, congratulations on this historic accomplishment. This success reflects the attention your country gives to sport and football. It is the result of a long and glorious journey of your football.
You now face the honorable task of performing with dignity at the World Cup. You bring joy to millions of fans. I am confident that the whole world will once again witness the potential of Uzbek football,” Infantino said.
During the visit, the delegation highly praised the National Football Center’s infrastructure and emphasized that Uzbekistan’s national teams will be able to train at a high level in preparation for international competitions.
