Ferghana Region Showcases Investment Potential at Business Forum in Germany

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A Ferghana–Germany Business Forum was held in Berlin with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Federal Republic of Germany. The event brought together over 100 business representatives from Uzbekistan and Germany.

Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Germany, Dilshod Akhatov, delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing that the forum aims to further enhance bilateral economic cooperation and promote new formats of partnership.

Governor of Ferghana Region, Khayrullo Bozorov, noted that relations between Uzbekistan and Germany have reached a qualitatively new level in recent years, gaining the status of a strategic partnership. He highlighted Germany’s continued role as one of Uzbekistan’s key economic and trade partners within the European Union.

According to Bozorov, Ferghana Region boasts significant economic potential:
"The region ranks among the largest in the country in terms of population and economic development. We have well-established oil and gas, textile, food, and agricultural industries, as well as a growing tourism and IT sector. Ferghana is endowed with vast land and human resources, modern infrastructure, and a stable political environment, creating wide opportunities for foreign investment."

Deputy Governor Nuriddin Mamajonov gave a detailed presentation on the favorable business climate in Uzbekistan, legal guarantees for investor protection, current mechanisms of state support, and the region’s industrial and infrastructural capabilities.

The forum featured B2B meetings, where entrepreneurs from both countries discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation and implementing joint projects in the fields of industry, education, healthcare, agriculture, electrical engineering, and vocational training.

The Berlin forum served as an important platform for deepening Uzbek-German economic ties, increasing bilateral trade, and attracting investment into priority sectors of Uzbekistan's economy.
