Ferghana region and Omsk region agree on the construction of a logistics center

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Nuriddin Mamajonov, Deputy Hokim of Ferghana Region, visited Russia’s Omsk Region to discuss joint investment projects.

During the working visit, the Uzbek representatives familiarized themselves with the operations of the Frut-City logistics center, Polikon JSC, and Unilever Rus LLC. Following negotiations, an agreement was reached to implement a major investment project in Omsk Region worth over 700 million rubles, as announced by Andrey Shpilenko, Deputy Chairman of the Omsk Region Government.

The discussions primarily focused on the development of agriculture and industry in both regions. As part of this cooperation, plans include establishing a production base for Omsk enterprises in Ferghana Region and expanding export opportunities.

One of the key initiatives will be the construction of a logistics center for storing and distributing agricultural products. The Frut-City center will serve as a transit hub for fruit and vegetable shipments from Uzbekistan. The facility will include modern refrigeration chambers, trading areas, and free spaces for Omsk-based producers to display their goods.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development of Omsk Region, the establishment of the logistics center will help reduce prices for fresh fruits and vegetables by lowering logistical costs and cutting out intermediaries.

"Thanks to the political will of our esteemed presidents, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin, we are actively strengthening cooperation," emphasized Nuriddin Mamajonov.
