Fed Cup: Uzbekistan beats China to claim spot in play-off

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan national team defeated China 3-0 to top the subgroup A on the third day of the Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Asia/Oceania Zone Group I event in Nonthaburi, near Bangkok

In the first singles match, Uzbekistan's Sabina Sharipova defeated Hao Chen Teng from China – 6/3and 6/2.

Nigina Abduraimova doubled the lead of Uzbekistan, defeating Jing-Jing Lu with the score 4/6, 6/1 and 6/1.

In the doubles match, Abduraimova partnered with Albina Khabibulina to defeat Hao Chen Teng and Jing-Jing Lu 7/6, 0/6 and 6/2.

Dmitriy Tomashevich’s team now will play against Japan, which topped other subgroup. The winner will progresses to World Group II play-offs.
