Famous Indian designer became “Ambassador of Tourism in Culture” of Uzbekistan in India

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Renowned Indian fashion designer, designer, founder of her own brand, Ritu Beri, was appointed as “Ambassador of Tourism for Culture” of Uzbekistan in India. This was announced during the "Festival of Uzbek music and fashion", held in Delhi.

Rita Beri is often called the Indian "Fashion Princess", the "First Lady of Indian Fashion". She is the first Indian designer presented in Paris.

The world famous movie stars Nicole Kidman, Leticia Casta, Madhuri Dixit and others wear outfits Rita Buri. 

Ritu Beri is also the founder of the non-profit organization The Luxury League, which promotes creativity and innovation in the luxury industry.

At the "Festival of Uzbek Music and Fashion" in Delhi, she took part with a show of her clothing collection, specially prepared for this event with pronounced traditional elements of Uzbek ikat.

During the event, it was officially announced the appointment of Ritu Beri as “Ambassador of Tourism in Culture” of Uzbekistan to India, and also presented an official certificate and a memorable gift on behalf of the State Committee for the Development of Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Speaking at the festival, Ritu Beri expressed great gratitude to the Uzbek side for such high trust. Recalling her recent trip to Uzbekistan, she spoke about the country’s unique potential in the field of tourism and culture. The designer stressed that she would make all her efforts to promote the cultural and tourist potential of Uzbekistan in India.

Buri noted that she is a big fan of the Uzbek cultural and historical heritage. The designer stressed that the cultural proximity of Uzbekistan and India is an important factor contributing to the comprehensive strengthening of bilateral relations. She also noted that Uzbekistan is considered to be one of the most popular tourist destinations for Indian families and encouraged everyone to visit Uzbekistan.

The festival participants also got acquainted with the presented author collections of Uzbek designers, the founders of the fashion house “Mursak” and “Anoratelier”.

During the festival, the national folk group “Surkhon” performed a colorful concert program.

Participants of the festival expressed their enthusiasm for the cultural program presented.

“Ambassador of Tourism in Culture” of Uzbekistan in India, the famous Indian designer Rita Beri said:

“I express my deep gratitude to the State Committee for Development of Tourism of Uzbekistan for such high confidence in my appointment as“ Ambassador of Tourism in Culture ”of Uzbekistan in India. For my part, I will put all my efforts and opportunities to promote the culture and tourism potential of Uzbekistan in India.

I would like to especially note that India and Uzbekistan are bound by a common culture and art. Close friendly relations have historically been established between our countries. It gives me great honor to act as a co-organizer of the Uzbek-Indian fashion show. The holding of cultural events of this kind contribute to the even closer convergence of the peoples of the two states. ”
