Explosion at Gas Refueling Station in Kashkadarya Kills Four
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 16 July, an explosion occurred at a fuel storage tank on the premises of a gas refueling station in the “Oltindala” mahalla of Kukdali district, Kashkadarya region. The blast was followed by a fire.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the incident was reported at 14:40. Four firefighting and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. The fire was contained by 15:00 and fully extinguished by 15:35.
Preliminary reports indicate that four people died as a result of the explosion and fire. No official information has yet been released regarding the number of injured.
Representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General’s Office, and other relevant agencies are currently working at the site. Additionally, a medical team led by Davron Tulyaganov, Director General of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Aid, has been dispatched to the region to coordinate emergency healthcare.
An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway.
