Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An additional meeting of the expert group to finalize and agree on the draft Regulations on the basic organization of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the field of tourism was held on 20 January at the CIS headquarters in Minsk. This was reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The meeting, which was held via videoconferencing, was attended by representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee.

The participants of the meeting finalized the draft Regulations. It was decided to consider the document agreed at the expert level. It will be submitted in due course for consideration by the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS.

It should be noted that the study of the issue of the basic organization is carried out in pursuance of the Strategy for the Development of Cooperation between the CIS Member States in the field of tourism for 2021–2030. It is planned that the International University of Tourism "Silk Road" (Samarkand) will receive this status.

The solution of this issue will greatly expand the possibilities of the Tourism Council of the CIS countries to develop cooperation in improving the education system, educational, methodological and expert-analytical support for the tourism industry.

In addition, the emergence of a basic organization in the field of tourism will ensure effective interaction between the Commonwealth countries in the field of training and retraining of personnel, which has become especially significant during the digital transformation of industries and is aimed at solving not only economic, but also social problems, including CIS states of the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
