Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Uzbekistan-India: Dialogue of Cultures exhibition completed its work in Delhi. The exposition in the National Museum of India, opened on the eve of the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to India, lasted a whole month - from 25 September to 25 October.

The exhibition was a great success among the Indian audience, it was visited by more than 7 thousand people, including prominent government and public figures, scholars, diplomats, media and academia.

During the month, the National Museum of India displayed rare manuscripts and miniatures of spiritual and cultural value for the peoples of Uzbekistan and India.

Many guests, members of the public and visitors to Delhi, shared their impressions of the exhibition and left thankful words in the book of records. In their opinion, the exhibition was another bright confirmation that Uzbekistan and India share deep historical roots, and the forums and meetings of the academic circles held during the exhibition determined a significant layer for cooperation and new pages of partnership projects between scientists of the two countries. As Indian experts emphasized, academic and cultural ties have always been and remain an important component of true friendship and mutual respect between our peoples.

The closing ceremony also brought together a wide range of guests, including representatives of the Ministry of Culture, social and political organizations and research institutes of India and the media. A well-known Indian group of Sufi songs performed at the event, as well as a young Uzbek artist, a graduate of an Indian music school.

The Uzbek Ambassador to India Farhod Arziev, speaking at the event, thanked the partners and organizers of the project and noted that the exhibition’s success was possible only through the joint work of the embassy, NAEMM, the National Museum of India, the Ministry of Culture of India, the Khudobakhsh and Rampur Reza libraries. He also stressed that according to the results of the project, an agreement was reached on the further demonstration of exhibits at the exhibition in Uzbekistan.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Delhi presented the National Museum of India with a book by Mahatma Gandhi “The story of my life”, published in Uzbekistan in the Uzbek language.

During the ceremony, Director of the National Museum of India Budha Mani noted that the joint exhibition opened up new prospects for expanding the cultural dialogue between the two countries. He expressed sincere gratitude to the partners from India and Uzbekistan in conducting "such an important event for deepening the spiritual and cultural interaction between our peoples."

Informational brochures and magazines that reveal various aspects of the spiritual and cultural life of Uzbekistan were also distributed to the participants of the event.
