Exhibition “Modern Muslim Fashion” opens in Frankfurt

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Following the San Francisco, the Museum of Applied Arts in Frankfurt accepts the exposition “Modern Muslim Fashion”.

The exhibition presents outfits and accessories from the leading fashion designers of the world, burkini and various hijabs, including sports, designed with the help of the best Muslim athletes, Euronews reported.

Director of the Frankfurt Museum Matthias Wagner argues that the exhibition - this is not showing headscarves. Its goal is to destroy stereotypes by demonstrating the diversity and creativity of the Muslim fashion, which can contribute to a positive perception of Muslim culture. And freedom, in his opinion, should be in the choice of clothes:

"Young Muslim women and non-Muslim women have the right to decide for themselves: whether to wear fashionable clothes, more or less open clothes, whether to wear hijab or not."

In the past few decades, Muslim fashion has been developing rapidly, becoming more colorful and multicolored. It is not always covered hair - but dresses are necessarily with long sleeves or skirts. This mode is also called modest.

The exhibition at the Museum of Applied Arts in Frankfurt am Main will run until 15 September, before heading to Rotterdam and then to New York.
