The presidential press service pointed out at the close of the meeting, "Note was taken that trade turnover among EURASEC countries in 2007 amounted to US$94 billion, which was three times as much as the 2001 level".

Nazarbayev emphasized that strides in economic cooperation "will have a favourable effect on interaction among the states in the socio-cultural sphere". "The citizens of EURASEC countries in their everyday life must come to feel the positive results of integration," the President of Kazakhstan pointed out.

EURASEC is an international economic organization, which comprises six countries -- Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
