English language week to be held in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- British Council in cooperation with Ministry of Higher Education and Special Secondary Education of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan, Fund Forum and Association of English language teachers will organize English language week in Uzbekistan.

The organizers said that over 350 teachers, 150 students, studying English, and 50 heads of faculties and chairs of English language, as well as 70 rectors and pro-rectors across Uzbekistan. Four experts from Great Britain will participate at the Week.

30 November, English teachers will hold a meeting to discuss methodology on teaching English language before the conference of the Association of English Language Teachers.

The conference will be attended by teachers from various regions of Uzbekistan, who demonstrate strong interest in professional development.

The conference of the Association of English Language Teachers titled “Ensuring standards of teaching, studying and assessing English language” will be held on 30 November-1 December 2012.

Teachers will exchange opinion and knowledge on teaching English, as well as discuss role of English for intercultural interaction. The conference will discuss results of English language projects in Uzbekistan.

Tashkent will host roundtable “New solutions in use of information technologies and introduction of international standards in education” on 5 December 2012.

Representatives of Uzbek education ministries, educational establishments and institutes will attend the event. They will discuss use of IT in education process, British experience in this area, perspectives of cooperation between two states in this area.

The event will be attended by students, who will discuss strategies, resources and new approaches in studying English language.
