Employees of the Embassy of Uzbekistan familiarized themselves with the conditions for admitting athletes in the Japanese city of Maizuru

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to prepare for the Olympic Games in Tokyo-2020, representatives of the Embassy paid a working visit to Maizuru, which is the host city of the Uzbekistan national judo team as part of the Tokyo Olympics.

During the trip, the conditions for the reception of the national team of Uzbekistan, arriving for pre-Olympic preparations, were examined, the prospects for bilateral cooperation between the cities of Rishtan and Maizuru were discussed, and a presentation was made to the residents of the city of the tourist and sports potential of the republic.

From 12 to 19 July 2021, a delegation of the Judo Federation of Uzbekistan, consisting of 29 people, will be in this city to conduct pre-Olympic training.

During the visit, negotiations were held with the Mayor of Maizuru Ryozo Tatami to discuss organizational issues for the reception of our athletes, as well as the implementation of joint projects for training and growing tea in Rishtan.

Ryozo Tatami said that the city is diligently preparing to receive our athletes, including the mayor's office bears all the costs associated with the stay of the delegation. He also stressed that in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection among athletes and residents, he personally organized the vaccination of all persons involved in the reception of our delegation.

The Japanese mayor expressed his readiness to provide comprehensive assistance in creating favorable conditions for training in Maizuru and wished great victories to the Uzbek athletes at the upcoming Games.

During the trip, the staff of the diplomatic mission studied the conditions created for our team, including the state of accommodation, food and sports facilities.
