Electronic base “Fauna of Nurata mountains, southern-eastern Kyzylkum and Aidar-Arnasay lake system”
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An electronic data base “Fauna of Nurata mountains, southern-eastern Kyzylkum and Aidar-Arnasay lake system” has been created in Uzbekistan.

The data base has been created within the project “Development of Nurata-Kyzylkum regional ecological information center”, realized in Jizzakh region in accordance with the small grants of Global Ecological Fund.

Umida Umarkhodjaeva, head of the project, said that the data base is designed for students of schools, colleges and lyceums, which can be used at ecology and nature lessons. She added that the CDs with the data base have been handed over to local educational establishments.

The electronic base “Fauna of Nurata mountains, southern-eastern Kyzylkum and Aidar-Arnasay lake system” collected information on fauna of the territory.

The data base is on CDs and has five sections, which include multimedia – images, video, voices of animals, birds, etc. The data base is in Uzbek, Russian and English.

Fauna of Farish district, located in unique nature, is diversified. Nurata reserve is located in the region and over 34 mammals live here. Four of them were included to Uzbekistan and international Red Books.

According to UzA, 103 of 200 birds, living in Nurata reserve, are living here. Some eight of them were included Uzbekistan Red Book and five – International Red Book. There are also large number of reptiles and insects.
