The Uzbek ministry said that the sides exchanged opinion on perspective directions of cooperation. The sides positively rated the visit of the Uzbek President Islam Karimov to the Brussels in January 2011 and they open new opportunities for wide-scale cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union.
It was said that there are new perspectives for joint projects in modernization of fuel-energy complex, introduction of energy saving technologies and alternative energy, development of transit routes and other areas.
During the meeting, the Uzbek side underlined interest in attracting advanced European technologies to energy sector.
The sides also discussed other issues of regional and bilateral character.
The EIB delegation also held meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance, Central Bank, and Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan.
