Ecotourism and extreme tourism festivals takes place in Chimgan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Two festivals took place at once in Chimgan village of Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region - the Chimgan-ECHO-2020 Ecotourism Sports Festival and the Chimgan-Extreme-2020 Winter Sports Festival.

The events were organized by the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the khokimiyat and the tourism development department of the Tashkent region to popularize and promote skiing, snowboarding and volleyball among the general public.

Within the framework of the Chimgan Extreme 2020 festival, a competition in winter extreme sports was held. The competition, which was attended by about 500 athletes in three age categories, gave the participants real adrenaline. At the opening of the festival, the First Deputy Minister of Physical Culture and Sports Oybek Kasimov told in detail to participants, spectators and representatives of more than twenty media about the work and plans for the future to popularize winter sports in our country.

“The number of winter sports practitioners in our country has been increasing in recent years. And now we have outlined our main goal as ensuring the worthy participation of our youth in international competitions in these sports. Sports festivals “Chimgan-ECHO-2020” and “Chimgan-Extreme-2020” are organized to strengthen the health of the younger generation, to involve children and adolescents in physical education, to ensure the participation of children in mass sports competitions and recreational activities outside of school time, as well as to popularize winter sports and among the general population, ”said Oybek Kasimov.

During the festival, sports competitions were held among children, adolescents and older athletes, as well as representatives of the media invited to cover the festival. The winners were awarded with medals, diplomas and precious prizes by the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
