Economy of Samarkand region grows by 10.6% in 1H

The growth of agriculture output made up 6.6%, construction-contract works – 10.1%, retail trade turnover – 16.2%, all services – 20.6% and paid services – 14.7%.

UzA reported that the share of small and private businesses in the gross regional product made up 70.9% in January-June 2013.

Within the approved programmes in rural areas, some 72 retail trade objects and 102 domestic service points were launched in the first half of 2013. The region is constructing 1,050 individual houses on standard projects at 28 blocks, UzA.

The region created 48,680 jobs in the first half of 2013, of which 38,900 of them were created in rural areas.
