Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will finance projects for the purchase of electric buses for Samarkand and Namangan.

Uzbekistan and the EBRD signed letters of mandate on long-term financing of the Samarkand Electric Buses and Namangan Electric Buses projects.

The document was signed within the framework of the 33rd annual meeting and business forum of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Yerevan.

During the event, Deputy Minister of Transport Ilkhomjon Abdugafarov held a meeting with the leadership of the EBRD Infrastructure Department (Eurasia), where they discussed the signing of mandate documents for the purchase of electric buses for the cities of Samarkand and Namangan, as well as financing the project for the reconstruction of the 4P160 Urgench - Mangyt highway (70 km ), part of the Trans-Caspian transport corridor.

As a result of the negotiations, mandate letters were signed on long-term financing of projects for the purchase of new buses.
