Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An earthquake was recorded in Uzbekistan, with its epicenter located in Afghanistan, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Monitoring of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan.
The earthquake occurred on 16 Octover at 23:56 local time, as reported by the Center.
The coordinates of the epicenter are 36.56° North latitude and 70.54° East longitude. The earthquake had a magnitude of 5.8 and a depth of 200 km. The epicenter was situated 536 km southeast of Tashkent.
The intensity of the tremors in Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan reached 2 points on the seismic scale.
