Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Law enforcement agencies in Uzbekistan have uncovered drug laboratories and seized substances worth 7.57 billion soums in Tashkent.
According to the Customs Committee, during a check at the "Dustlik" customs post, officers discovered that what appeared to be laundry detergent in a passenger’s bag was actually a potent substance, pregabalin. In total, 11 packages of the powder weighing 33 kilograms were found.
Subsequently, during operational search activities, two individuals were detained at the Alay Market in the capital, who were receiving these powders.
Law enforcement also identified two apartments in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent, where secret laboratories for the production and packaging of potent substances were located. Nearly 60 kilograms of substances worth over 2 billion soums, 90 packages of "Tropicamide," more than 1,000 packages of "Regapen," 15,000 empty "Regapen" capsules, 11,000 empty "Tropicamide" packages, and 24 pieces of laboratory equipment were found in these laboratories.
As a result of the operational activities, potent medications, materials, and laboratory equipment worth a total of 7.57 billion soums were seized. A criminal case has been initiated, and an investigation is ongoing.
