Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Decree of the President of Uzbekistan “On measures to further improve and popularize physical education and sports in the Republic of Uzbekistan” has been adopted.

The decree defines the main directions of reforming the system of physical education and sports until 2025.

In particular, the total population regularly engaged in physical education and sports will be increased to 30 percent, and youth involved in sports organizations and institutions, to 20 percent.

Also, sports tourism will be developed through the systematic implementation of the Tashkent Marathon international marathon, the Save Aral international eco-marathon, auto rally and motocross racing competitions starting in 2020.

According to the Decree, starting from 1 February 2020, a doping test sampling system will be introduced in stages at republican sports competitions in Olympic sports.

The decree approved the Roadmap for the implementation in 2020 of the Concept for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports in the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2025.
