Distance education - more students, more time
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Now, financial specialists from Khorezm, Samarkand and Andijan regions can improve their skills without leaving the region through distance learning. If previously they would have to be torn between work and study, as the training courses were held in Tashkent, and thus they had to leave their jobs, which led to needless downtime, which is no longer necessary.

- There are more than 4500 specialists from the financial industry from all regions of Uzbekistan who attend trainings at the Training Center under the Ministry of Finance annually, and it should be noted that many of the attendees hold executive and managerial positions, and can not leave their work and travel to Tashkent for a weekly or a monthly training - says Dilara Jumanova, a Teacher of the Training Center under the Ministry of Finance. - Now, through distance education, students in the regions will be able to train directly at their workplaces, and at the same time execute their normal duties.

The technical equipment for distance education both for the piloted regions as well as for the Training Center itself is provided by UNDP project on "Budget System Reform in Uzbekistan". The other day, we piloted equipment - specialists of the project and the Information-computing center of the Ministry of Finance, through a video-conference connection Polycom HDX, held a simultaneous online conference between Tashkent and 3 regional financial departments of the Ministry of Finance in Samarkand, Andijan and Urgench.

Why did we select these regions?

Khorezm, Samarkand and Andijan regions of the country geographically are located far from Tashkent, and visiting these regions takes a lot of time and financial resources from the members of the Ministry of Finance / Training Centre. The system of video conferencing will help solve the problem of distance and resources.

Also, as a result of installing the relevant hardware equipment in the city of Samarkand, employees of financial departments of the surrounding regions, which are Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, Samarkand and Jizzakh regions, too, can remotely upgrade their skills. Urgench, in turn, will be able to cover the financial departments of Karakalpakstan, Khorezm, Navoi and Bukhara. Andijan – Andijan, Ferghana and Namangan. And Tashkent, in its turn, will cover Tashkent and Syrdarya region.

Thus, with the help of video-conferencing established in the 3 regions of the country, all the republican departments of the Ministry of Finance will be able to take advanced training without leaving their hometowns.

In addition, the Learning Center, in partnership with the UNDP project on "Budget System Reform in Uzbekistan", launched a new information portal, which contains various interactive methods used in distance learning: interactive lectures, flash-clips, video and audio materials, online tests , case studies, presentations.
