Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ayubkhon Yunusov held a meeting with Sheikh Hamoud Mubarak Al-Hamoud Al-Jabir Al-Sabah, the head of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Kuwait, according to Dunyo the news agency.

During the meeting, they discussed the prospects of accelerating cooperation between the aviation authorities of the two countries, the launch of direct flights, and other key issues.

Sheikh Hamoud Mubarak highlighted the successful outcomes of his meeting with the delegation of Uzbekistan’s civil aviation, which took place on October 24 in Malaysia during the ICAO session. According to him, Kuwait Airways plans to begin flights on the Kuwait City–Tashkent route in 2025.

Special attention was given to the visa-free regime that applies to citizens of over 90 countries, including Kuwait. This is expected to significantly increase passenger traffic on this route.

As a result of the meeting, both sides agreed to conduct additional negotiations between the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Kuwait and relevant Uzbek authorities to finalize the details of future cooperation.
