On 28 March, new Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the UN Dilyor Khakimov handed over credentials to the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon.

At this post, Dilyor Khakimov replaced Murad Askarov, who headed Permanent Mission of Uzbekistan to the UN from 2009 to March 2013. In March, Askarov was appointed as Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan.

Prior to appointment, Dilyor Khakimov headed Department for USA and America at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
