Digital technologies of Siemens for “Safe City” project presented in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent hosted a seminar on preparation of the Safe City project. The event took place within the framework of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications Development (MIRTC)and Siemens, signed in November 2017.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Republic of Uzbekistan Gunter Overfield. The Ambassador stressed that implementation of this project will contribute to the development of Uzbek-German relations.

Specialists of the concern from Great Britain, Germany, the United Arab Emirates and Russia shared their experience in implementing modern technologies in the city infrastructure, and also discussed the use of innovative solutions.

During the event, digital solutions were demonstrated, including traffic management and parking systems, intelligent networks (Smart Grid), intelligent building management and evacuation systems.

Based on similar projects implemented in Berlin, Dubai, London and Lucerne, the company’s specialists told how the investments in the "Safe City" cannot only create a comfortable environment for the residents, but also contribute to the social, economic and cultural development of the country.

“Our experts are happy to share their experience in the area of urban infrastructure modernization. Together with representatives of the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications, we plan to hold similar seminars not only in the capital, but also in Samarkand and Kokand. I am confident that the company’s technologies will help Uzbek partners in the successful implementation of this project, " Julie Alexander, director of the Urban Development and Smart City Division, said.

Minister of Information Technologies and Communications Development Azim Ahmedkhadjayev expressed hope that this seminar will make a significant contribution and will serve as an incentive for further fruitful work, and the recommendations of Siemens specialists will find application in life.

The seminar was also attended by leading experts from MIRTC, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry for Emergency Situations, the administration of the city of Tashkent, the State Committee for Investments and leading design institutes.
