Uzbekistan number one Denis Istomin started new 2012 season with victory over Germany’s Florian Mayer at ATP Brisbane.
Denis Istomin clinched the first set with the score 7/6 (7/5). In the second set at the score 2/3, the fourth seeded of the tournament retired.
In the second round, Denis Istomin will face the winner of the match between Marinko Matosevic of Australia and Tommy Haas of Germany.
