In the second round, Denis Istomin beat Benjamin Becker of Germany in three sets – 6/3, 6/7 (5) and 6/2.

The match lasted an hour and 50 minutes. During the match, Denis Istomin served 11 aces against five aces of German ace.

Istomin clinched five break-points and lost two own games. He committed two double faults. Bekker recorded only one double fault.

In the quarterfinals, Denis Istomin will face the winner of the match between Milos Raonic of Canada and Michael Russell of the United States. Denis Istomin is the finalist of ATP SAP Open 2012. Last year, he reached final and lost to Milos Raonic in straight sets 7/6 (3) and 6/2.
