In the first round Denis Istomin outplayed the 16th seed of the tournament Janko Tipsarevic from Serbia in straight sets – 6:4 and 6:3.
The match lasted an hour and 20 minutes. Istomin claimed two break points, while Serb could not convert his four break points.
During the match Denis Istomin served seven aces and committed two double faults. Janko Tipsarevic recorded six aces and nine double faults.
In the second round Istomin will face Filip Peliwo of Canada.
