Delegation of Uzbekistan holds talks with Silicon Valley companies
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan visited Silicon Valley (California), where it held meetings and negotiations on cooperation with leading IT companies.

The delegation of Uzbekistan held negotiations with the investor in the global start-ups of HP Tech Ventures Vitaly Golomb. The parties discussed creation and support of the ecosystem of technology parks and innovation centers on the example of the Silicon Valley. The parties considered possibilities of cooperation in developing mechanisms for attracting investments to support IT startups in Uzbekistan.

Representatives of Uzbekistan also met with the general manager of Amazon Web Services (a subsidiary of Amazon), Camfus Bass. The parties discussed possibility of building datacenters using solar panels on the territory of Uzbekistan, as well as providing web services through Amazon Web Services platforms for users in Uzbekistan.

Also the Uzbek delegation met with Cisco Vice President for Strategy, Technology and Innovation Doug Webster. The parties discussed cooperation in developing a strategy for the development of "smart" and safe cities in Uzbekistan. Following the talks, an agreement on intentions and further cooperation in a number of areas was signed.

The delegation of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the head of economic growth of Facebook initiatives Clare Davy. The participants discussed participation of representatives of the company in IT-events in Uzbekistan and various areas of cooperation, including the implementation of social projects.

During the visit to Silicon Valley, the delegation of Uzbekistan visited Google Launchpad accelerator and Plug and Play Tech Center business incubator, and also met with co-founder of School 42 Kwame Yangnan.

Inha University in Tashkent and Openbucks have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The document envisages implementation of the initiative Silicon Valley Talks - organization of meetings of experts from the US with students and developers of Uzbekistan.
