Delegation of Turkey holds negotiations in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Turkey and Uzbekistan held political consultations in Tashkent on 11 December 2012, press service of Embassy of Turkey in Uzbekistan said on 17 December 2012.

On 10 December 2012, the Turkish delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Mehmet Fatih Ceylan held several negotiations before political consultations. The delegation visited Tashkent Turkish Primary School and studied its activities. The delegation visited Association of Businesspersons of Uzbekistan and Turkey and met with businesses. The event was attended by representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan and discussed issues related to activities of businesses in Uzbekistan.

On 11 December 2012, bilateral relations were considered within the political consultations. The head of the Uzbek delegation, first deputy foreign minister of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov, underlined importance of the political consultations, which has been held for the first time since 2008, and expressed interest in developing relations with Turkey based on mutual interest and understanding. Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkey Mehmet Fatih Ceylan stated that development of relations meets interests of both sides and expressed readiness to adopt concrete measures in 2013 in these directions.

At the negotiations, which were held in positive and constructive atmosphere, the sides discussed political, economic and cultural relations between two states, as well as mutual proposals on adopting effective measures within bilateral relations for upcoming period. They also considered regional and international issues.

Turkish delegation also has been received by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov. At the meeting, Minister expressed wish to improve bilateral relations and readiness to cooperation in all areas, in particular, economic, trade, tourism, transport and agriculture sector, as well as his support to proposals of Turkish side, vowed at political consultations.

Abdulaziz Kamilov expressed his positive opinion on such issues as development of cooperation plan between ministries of foreign affairs of two states for 2013-2015, visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Ahmed Davutoglu, holding session of the Joint economic commission and holding the second session of Uzbek-Turkish mixed commission on international automobile communication in Ankara in spring 2013.

The delegation also held meeting with the first deputy minister for foreign economic relations, investment and trade of Uzbekistan Mr. Kamalov and deputy economy minister Mr. Mirzamahmudov. The sides exchanged opinion on project of regional complex transport corridors and potential cooperation in trade, tourism and transport sectors.

Ambassador of Extraordinary and Penitentiary of Turkey to Uzbekistan Mehmet Sertac Sonmezay participated at the meetings.

The delegation of Turkey also paid visit to Samarkand city.
