Delegation of the British Museum arrived in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 June 2018, a delegation of the British Museum arrived in Tashkent. The delegation included the head of the Department of Islamic Art, Ladan Akbarnia, the curator of the collection on the contemporary Middle East Famida Suleiman, curator of the textile collection Helena Wolf and others.

The organizer of the visit was the Foundation for Development of Culture and Arts under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the visit, it is planned to discuss the prospects for development of bilateral cooperation with the leadership of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Foundation for Development of Culture and Art.

Also, questions will be discussed about the upcoming internship of employees of the institutions of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the areas of restoration, conservation, supervision.

It is planned that the delegation of the British Museum will visit the city of Marghilan, Bukhara, Samarkand, within the framework of the visit.

The program of the visit includes visits to cultural and historical centers of Uzbekistan, including the Hazrati Imam ensemble in Tashkent, Turgunbai Mirzaakhmedov’s house-workshop in Margilan, the Ark fortress in Bukhara, the memorial complex of Imam Al-Bukhari in Samarkand, Registan Square in Samarkand, etc.
