Delegation of European parliament visits Uzbekistan

The group of the MPs of European parliament arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the 10th session of the Committee of parliamentary cooperation “Uzbekistan – European Union”, the press service of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

During the meeting, the sides considered current state and perspective direction of developing interaction between Uzbekistan and the EU, including legislative bodies of two sides. It was noted that cooperation in Uzbekistan – EU format has significant potential. Both sides are interested in its implementation through deepening and expanding bilateral relations in politics, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres.

The sides considered implementation of the EU strategy for Central Asia and Exchanged opinion on international and regional issues.

Head of the EU delegation in Uzbekistan Ambassador Yuriy Sterk participated at the meeting.
