Days of St. Petersburg are held in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Days of Saint Petersburg (Russia) are held in Tashkent.
Welcoming guests in the city khokimiyat, deputy khokim on youth policy, social development and spiritual and educational work Elbek Shukurov noted that friendship and cooperation between Tashkent and St. Petersburg are steadily strengthened, and gave proposals for the development of cooperation.
In particular, he expressed the opinion that the opening of the Tashkent Trade House in St. Petersburg will be of great importance for the trade and economic relations of the two cities.
The head of the St. Petersburg delegation, Anatoly Kotov, in turn, thanked for the warm welcome and asked for a place for St. Petersburg in Victory Park, which is planned to be built in Tashkent.
Both sides expressed interest in expanding tourism and developing relations between youth organizations.
At the opening of the business forum, the special representative of the government of St. Petersburg, Anatoly Kotov, noted that in recent years cooperation has become more pragmatic, during the year the trade turnover between our cities has increased by 70%. If last year there was a general forum Tashkent-Petersburg, then this year the communication takes place in different directions - this is industry, health care, youth policy, issues of migration and learning the Russian language. As part of the cultural program, performers came, including from the Mariinsky Theater, to please Tashkent with the music performances.
Anatoly Kotov stressed: “We have a lot of work to do, soon we will disperse on substantive seminars in different areas to continue discussing cooperation”.
In response, Elbek Shukurov said that he, like many Tashkent people, considers St. Petersburg to be a beautiful place and that both our cities are interested in closer cooperation: that at the next meeting we will talk about the growth of turnover not by interest, but at times. We will also work on consolidating what has been accomplished so that master classes for Russian teachers can be held constantly. ”
Then, the Deputy Committee of Industrial Development and Innovation Policy of the Government of St. Petersburg, Mikhail Tkachev, spoke. He elaborated on the areas of cooperation, singling out mechanical engineering, power engineering (Power Machines), the food industry and others. In particular, he invited the Tashkent businessmen to take part in the next year’s logistics center for wholesale sales and purchases near Pulkovo Airport.
After that, the forum participants got acquainted with the presentation of the investment potential of Tashkent, watched a film about the beauties of St. Petersburg and, after a short break, continued their work in sections. In them, experts discussed health issues, youth policy, migration issues, and business projects.
Further, businessmen continued closer communication in their areas. The forum was intense, compact and fruitful.
