Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Days of Culture of Uzbekistan will be held in Azerbaijan. As part of the Days of Culture, held at the initiative of the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan, concerts, theatrical performances, a book exhibition and other events are organized. People’s artists of Uzbekistan - Farrukh Zakirov, Nasiba Abdullaeva, Hoshimjon Ismailov, Zulaikho Boykhanova, Gulsanam Mamazoitova, Dzhenisbek Piyazov, Samandar Alimov and others will take part in the events.
Artists of the Uzbek State Musical Theater named after Mukimi on the stage of the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater will show two productions: on 2 August - "Mother-in-law" and on 3 August - "Past Days".
"Mother-in-law" is staged based on the work of Majid Shamkhalov. Director - Asker Askerov, artist - Bahram Safoev, musical design - Sevda Aliyeva, director’s assistant - Feruzbek Abduraimov. Honored Artist of Uzbekistan, holder of the Dustlik Order Gulbahar Mammadova in the title role. The plot is based on a banal family conflict - disagreements between the mother-in-law and the daughter-in-law.
Days Past is based on the work of the same name by the Uzbek writer Abdulla Kadiri. The director of the play is Bakhodir Nazarov. Zeinab, the second wife of the protagonist Atabek, whom he was forced to marry, kills his first wife Kumush. The performance is directed against the remnants of the past, such as, in particular, forced marriage not out of love, but at the insistence of parents.
