Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to widely promote the tourist potential, cultural and historical heritage, traditions and art of Uzbekistan, on 5-12 December, Days of Culture of Uzbekistan was held in Kuala Lumpur.

In particular, the events were held in the Menara Kuala Lumpur concert hall, during the annual fair of applied art in the Kuala Lumpur artisan complex and on the stage of the capital’s botanical garden.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan, Yoshlar Ittifoki and the diplomatic mission of our country in Malaysia.

The main part of the event consisted of the concert program of the group “Uzbegim Yoshlari”. The performances of the Uzbek group covered various areas of musical art, from traditional maqom and virtuoso performance on national instruments to incendiary dances like the Andijan Polka and Lazgi Khorezm dance, thus demonstrating the greatness of Uzbek culture, its traditions and customs.

Also, guests were shown video stories about the tourism potential and cultural and historical heritage of our country. In addition, visitors were offered delicious dishes of Uzbek cuisine.

In general, the Days of Culture aroused great interest among Malaysian citizens and guests of the capital, who highly appreciated the presentation of the multi-faceted culture of Uzbekistan.

Director of the tourist complex of the Menara Kuala Lumpur TV tower, Rozlan Mohamed, noted that such events are an important tool of “public diplomacy” and allow the Malaysian public to come into closer contact with the traditions, history and art of Uzbekistan.

The director-general of the Kuala-Lumpur artisan complex, Ensik Ibrahim bin Ismail, believes that Malaysia and Uzbekistan are linked by a common culture and art, and our country has historically developed close friendly relations. He added that holding such events contributes to an even closer convergence of the peoples of the two countries.
