Davis Cup: Uzbekistan faces New Zealand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan will face New Zealand in their first round Asia/Oceania Group One tennis tie next year. The match will be held in Uzbekistan.

The winner will play against the winner of the tie between Philippines and Japan. The tie will be held on 4-6 March 2010.

Uzbekistan and New Zealand played twice in Davis Cup and in both occasions Uzbekistan outplayed their opponents.

This year, Uzbekistan lost to China with the score 3-2 in the first round and defeated South Korea with the score 3-2 in the play-off. The win helped Uzbekistan to keep its place in Asia/Oceania Group One.
