Sarvar Ikramov replaced Denis Istomin in the first of Sunday's singles matches and his 6-3, 7-5 win over Ze Zhang extended a lead.

It was left to Di Wu to bring China a solitary consolation point, which he earned with a 6-0, 6-2 win over debutant Temur Ismailov in the fifth and final match of the tie.

In next round, Uzbekistan will face Australia, which defeated Chinese Taipei with the score 5-0. Uzbekistan will host the match.
