The visit was aimed at opening of the exhibition at Termez Archeological Museum dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Czech-Uzbek archeological expedition.
The head of the Czech archeologists Ladislav Stančo received awards from Surkhandaryo region administration for their contribution to studying history of Uzbekistan. Director of Termez Archeological Museum Ismail Batirov familiarized the envoy with the exhibits of the museum.
Surkhandarya region is only region of Uzbekistan, which borders with Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. Over 3,000 years ago it was center of trade, civilization and culture as several unique archeological objects prove. Annually archeologists from Russia, France, Germany and Japan visit the region.
Hynek Pejcha met with famous Uzbek archaeologist Edward Rtveladze, who has been studying Kamyrtepa ancient city. On 12 September, Mr Rtveladze found unique discovery, which proves that Alexander the Great passed the territory of the current Uzbekistan.
The Czech envoy also visited restored Buddhist sanctuary Fayaztepa and famous tomb of Al Termezi, which is one of the places of pilgrimage in Uzbekistan.
Besides, Hynek Pejcha expressed interest in opportunities of boosting trade cooperation through Termez river port, located in Amudarya river.
At the end of his visit to southern Uzbekistan, the Czech envou visited strategic base of Luftwaffe (German Air Forces) in Termez.
