Culture Ministry: Director of Savitsky Museum retires on pension

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Director of the State Karakalpak Art Museum named after Savitsky Marinika Babanazarova wrote a letter of resignation on her own request to the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Karakalpakstan and retired on pension, the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Uzbekistan said in a statement.

Ministry of Culture and Sports of Uzbekistan said that the Ministry highly rates her contribution to development of the Museum and called everybody to respect her decision to retire.

The Ministry’s statement said that Marinika Babanazarova can participate in public life of the museum. She can participate in the events of the museum as honoured guest, it added

Ministry recalled that in line with the law “On Museum”, works and collections, stored at the museums, are state property and protected by the government. The heads of the museums are appointed and freed in line with the legislation.
