Uzbekistan 02/06/2009 CSTO to consider drug trafficking, illegal migration issues

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will consider issues on drug trafficking and illegal migration control.

The issues are on the agenda of the next meeting of Secretaries’ Committee of the CSTO Security Councils (CSSC) to take place in Minsk, Belarus, on 5 June 2009.

Heads of the Security Councils will also discuss military and political situation in the area of organization’s responsibility and neighboring regions, measures against challenges and threats to collective security and also summarize the results of complex strategically- preventive and special operations Canal, Nelegal and PROKSI.

Members of CSSC will reach an agreement upon a number of documents, in particular, main directions of CSTO activity on forming of collective system of response to emergencies up to 2012 and plan of actions on illegal migration of third countries’ citizens control.

The Collective Security Treaty Organization includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
