CSTO Foreign Ministers to gather in Russia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Informal summit of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will be held in Moscow, Russia, on 25 March, the Russian Embassy in Uzbekistan said.
Currently, Russia is chairing the organization. The event is held to prepare for session of the CSTO Collective Security Council, which will be held in June 2010.
Representatives of foreign ministries of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, the embassy said.
During the meeting, the sides will exchange opinion on coordination of coordination foreign political issues, including support of Kazakhstan in the chairmanship in the OSCE, priorities of the CSTO.
The participants will consider issues of interaction between the CSTO and Eurasian Economic Community, cooperation with the UN. They will also discuss issues in Afghanistan and combating drug trafficking in the country.
The meeting will also consider organizational issues, including date and venue for next meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers.
