Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), a post-Soviet security group, expanded at a meeting on Thursday its list of terrorist and extremist organizations to 31, a CSTO spokesman said.

"A draft list of organizations considered terrorist and extremist by CSTO member-states was discussed at today’s meeting," Vitaly Strugovets said.

The CSTO comprises Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

The group’s initial 2004 list of terrorist organizations had 22 entries.

"A list of new organizations has been compiled. The new list includes 31 groups," Strugovets said.

Groups on the list include al-Qaeda and the Taliban, plus a number of regional Islamist movements.
