"The heads of the parliamentary delegations will meet to ’check the clocks’ before the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly: to study the issues on the draft agenda, to exchange opinions on them, and, if need be, to work out a common position," the CSTO Secretariat said in a report on Tuesday.
The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will meet in Vienna in February 2009. The meeting will likely address the situation in the Northern Caucasus, the situation with the CFE Treaty, the gas issues, and other issues, said the press service.
The meeting scheduled to take place in Moscow on January 22 will be "the first meeting aimed at coordinating the foreign policy of the legislative authorities of the CSTO countries," said the press service.
The CSTO comprises Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
