Court upholds sentence against Kabul Dusov
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A court in Uzbekistan has upheld the sentence against blogger and former deputy Kabul Dusov, the press service of the Supreme Court reported.
According to the ruling of the cassation instance of the Tashkent City Court’s Criminal Panel on 11 March, the decision of the Yashnabad District Court from 24 January remains in effect.

In November 2024, Kabul Dusov was convicted of insulting Deputy Minister of Preschool and School Education Farhod Bokiyev. The court sentenced him to one year of restricted freedom.
In January 2025, the Yashnabad District Court revised the penalty, replacing the remaining 11 months and two days of restricted freedom with imprisonment for the same duration.
In February, the court found the former deputy guilty of defamation and insult (Articles 139 and 140 of the Criminal Code) against multiple victims—N.Y., O.K., Sh.Kh., and S.S. As a result, he was sentenced to one year and two months in a penal settlement.
