Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Law enforcement agencies in Uzbekistan have prevented the sale of counterfeit alcohol worth 2.3 billion soums in Navoi region, according to the press service of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The counterfeit products were discovered at a plant in the Khatirchi district. Authorities seized 47,600 bottles of fake alcohol and 110,000 counterfeit excise stamps.
An official investigation has been launched, and a criminal case has been initiated in connection with the incident.
